"Echoes"
This silent performance, inspired by Agnieszka Pajączkowska’s book Wędrowny zakład fotograficzny, is an impression of the Polish Eastern Borderlands. It speaks about forgotten people and places and about objects that remain. It refers to memories but also to the remembrance of future generations and proves to be extremely topical.
Photographs, which will come to life before our eyes, will make us travel to various cultures, nationalities and religions. The choreography, created by Natalia Iwaniec, will guide us in this journey through the use of Gaga, a unique movement language developed by Ohad Naharin. The music, a collection of folk songs, among other pieces, will help us become acquainted with other languages, sounds and words of prayers.
This show is not only a story about the past but also an invitation to observe our origins and the role that they play in our lives and in the modern world.
The perfromance has so far been presented at the prestigious Chalon dans la Rue festival (France), FITS Festival in Sibiu (Romania), the "ŠERMUKŠNIS" Festival in Klaipėda (Lithuania), the Nisville Jazz Theatre Festival in Serbia, the Akademický Prešov Festival in Slovakia, as well as at festivals all over Poland - FETA in Gdańsk, Sztuka Ulicy in Warsaw, ULICA in Krakow, Zamość, Łomża, Ełk, Radom, Poznań, Krosno, Lubaczów and many other cities all over Poland.
